Position: The Arts Administration program at Teachers College, Columbia University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position to begin September 1, 2020. The Arts Administration program has a strong research orientation and an internationally renowned masters program. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, economics, public administration, business, and/or law, or related disciplines. Demonstrable potential for cutting-edge research and teaching; a commitment to social justice, equity, and access in the arts and university; and the ability to contribute administratively to the program. Desirable areas of specialization include the study of non-U.S. arts systems, cultural economics, access and therapeutic uses of the arts, diversity, cultural policy, program assessment, and digital technologies. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Responsibilities: Duties will include teaching masters-level courses; supervising student research; on-going program development; and advising. The successful candidate must be willing to assume responsibilities of academic administration and planning as part of the professorial role and collaborate with colleagues in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
